So who is the next villain for Christian Bale's Batman? Well in an earlier post I did say how there was talk of the Penguin as the next villain for the third installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman films. Philip Seymour Hoffman was rumored to be the actor in talks of playing the role. However now another rumor has surfaced that the Riddler will be the next villain and Johnny Depp was in talks to play the role. Honestly I have to say that I was a little worried about Christopher Nolan's next installment. After all part of the reason that The Dark Knight is so successful is because of Heath Ledger's performance. However do keep in mind that even without Ledger in Batman Begins that movie still did extremely well. I think either are a good choice. Johnny Depp is known for his eccentric roles. There is no doubt in my mind that he would do an amazing job. Philip Seymour Hoffman did a great job in Capote and it earned him an Oscar. I have seen bit and pieces of him in Mission Impossible 3 (a movie in which he was the villain) and he was definatly really good. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.
