Wanted... Leaves You Wanting More!

Below is a previous post from my other blog, exohmoviegirl's Notes from a Movie Nerd. This was originally posted on July 17, 2008. I do warn you that there may be a few spoilers in the post. Although I tried my best not to give any.

When I went to buy my ticket for tomorrows The Dark Knight I saw the movie Wanted. It was awesome! Full of action and plot twists. By the end it was definatly on my lists of favorites.

First off, I loved Morgan Freeman's role. I would get into detail as why but I don't wanna spoil anything. His role wasn't his normal God-like character. Instead a major plot twist showed the audience that he could do the complete opposite. Not only that but he actually dropped a few f bombs. It so strange to see a someone I consider a serious actor like him drop a cuss word. I couldn't help but laugh cause I don't see him as that type of person.

Angelina Jolie kicked butt as usual. She showed me something in this film though that definatly I think was different. Remember in a post a few days ago how I said some action movies don't need serious acting chops. Her character showed so much feeling and passion for her job. Not only that but you could tell her character Fox cared for Wesley. After all she was the one that trained him to be an assassin. However even though you knew she cared you could tell her character didn't like to show it. That showed in one scene that had a big twist where she showed even though she cared her work came first. She highly valued her job. But in the last scene once again she showed that she did care about all she taught Wesley. However I hated the ending with her character. I did love what she did but if you saw the movie you know what I am talking about.

James McAvoy is also showed some serious acting chops. In my opinion he was so much better in this movie than he was in Atonement. Atonement also had earned him a Golden Globe nod so thats a big thing to say. He played his character so well and I can't even find words to describe it.

I loved Danny Elfman's music once again. I already had one song on my iPod before seeing the movie and its definatly a little different. The Little Things is the theme for the movie and who knew that he could sing. But I just kept wondering of who was the guy singing the lyrics only to find it was the man himself. It is the first time he lends the voice to one of his scores. He did a dang good job too.

But overall, I think this movie is one of the best action flicks I have ever seen. There was great acting, a great score, and great action. It was so much fun to watch. I HIGHLY recomend it to all.
