Okay, so I just got finished talking about the upcoming movie Twilight. It is a highly anticipated film. But here is a movie that might not be highly anticipated but certainly makes many people curious. Why? Well The House Bunny stars the young Rumer Willis who is none other than the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. So everyone is wondering if this girl has inherited her parents acting skills.
Now I haven't seen much of Bruce or Demi's work at all. I did see Demi in St. Elmo's Fire where is played a girl who prides in Daddy's money and hates her "Stepmonster." She did a fairly good job. But I have only seen Bruce in the Die Hard franchise and Six Sense. To me, Die Hard is more of a fun film that doesn't really need serious acting chops. But Six Sense showed his serious acting skill and once again like Demi, he did a fairly good job.
Sadly the movie reminds me too much of Sydney White. But instead of a girl getting kicked out of a Sorority house and joining the Vortex or the nerd frat house. Then turning them into them into popular campus guys. The House Bunny is about a playmate who gets kicked out of the Playboy Mansion. She winds up on a local college campus and becomes the house mother of Zeta Alpha Zeta, which houses the most clueless girls on campus. She then makes them over and they become popular on campus.Sadly the casting worries me a little.
Especially with Katherine McPhee because a crossover star never ends up to be a good thing. Then there's Kiely Williams of Cheetah Girls fame. Let's face it not every Disney star has talent. She might be talented when it comes to singing but acting is a little iffy.
However there is your bits of talent. Rumer Willis is not the only offspring of A-list parents that are attached to this film. Colin Hanks seemed to have disappeared a little from the acting world since Orange County and tv show Roswell. He did have some small parts in movies but nothing that really set him off on our radar. His last name is most certainly what might ring a bell. Colin Hanks is indeed the son of actor Tom Hanks. He plays Anna Faris' love interest named Oliver.
Another girl that is proving to be a rising star is Kat Dennings who plays one of the members of Zeta Alpha Zeta. She has been in films like Raise Your Voice, 40 Year Old Virgin, and Charlie Bartlett. However this film may not be her big break. She is set to star alongside Michael Cera in Nick and Norah's Indefinate Playlist as Norah.
Must say this movie should be an interesting one. But I think I might wait for the DVD.
