Twilight- Release Date December 12, 2008

Below is yet another post from my other blog that is currently on lockdown (haha). This was originally posted on July 15, 2008. The release of Breaking Dawn (the final novel of the Twilight series) is actually now TONIGHT. So Twilight fans should be excited. Enjoy!

Hey everyone! So I am actually currently watching Step Up 2 The Streets on my laptop. However I thought I would blog about something else. How about the upcoming Twilight film.

The film is based off the popular book series by Stephanie Meyer specifically the first novel called Twilight. They are often compared to the large film franchise and books we all know as Harry Potter. However the story isn't all about witches and wizards but rather vampires. In fact it is more of a vampire love story.

Now I haven't read the books. However my younger sister is a huge fan. In fact the whole reason I chose to write on this topic is the fact that the fourth novel Breaking Dawn is coming out in just a few weeks. I, being a big fan of film kinda stay away from reading a book that a film is based off of. Mainly because I feel that will really play in a big factor in how I view the film. I really like to view them both seperately and for some reason don't feel I can do that with reading the book first. But with this book being a big bestseller I hope it doesn't disappoint like the fifth Harry Potter did for most fans.

Speaking of Harry Potter franchise, the two do share one thing in common. His name is Robert Pattinson. Many people may remember Pattinson as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Well he takes on the role Edward Cullen. A vampire who falls in love with Bella Swan. Around his debut as Cedric Diggory, Teen People reported him as the next James Dean.

There is even more talent in this movie. Bella Swan is played by Kristen Stewert. To most she is a fairly unknown actress. This film may very well be her big break. But to those who have seen Panic Room, Into the Wild, Fierce People, In The Land of Women, and the Lifetime movie Speak; she is a powerhouse of talent. Nikki Reed proved she was talented as a screenwriter and actress in Thirteen. After all the movie was based on her life. She wasn't even playing the character based on herself in the movie. But neverless she did an amazing job and put herself on the map as big talent. She plays Rosalie Hale, a vampire who marries Emmett Cullen.Elizabeth Reaser plays Esme Cullen. She is known probably to most as Ava/Rebecca on Grey's Anatomy and maybe for her role in The Family Stone. These actresses are just some of the endless talent in the cast.

What frustrates me the most is that many fans are complaining about the casting. In my eyes and the eyes of other movie buffs, this film has probably been perfectly casted. Like I have said about a thousand times already the film has endless talent. Many say Robert isn't hot enough to play Edward. Books paint pictures in your mind. Some character you picture might be different to another. When you look at Robert Pattinson he just has that dark gothic/vampire look to him. Therefore it's a great part for him. Some say Bella isn't pretty enough or she is too plain. Honestly she is about as plain and pretty as it gets. Stephane Meyer, the author, says each person is what she pictured the character to be. Keep in mind that Robert wasn't her first choice either. Honestly the character ain't going to be what you invisioned it.

But there I vented about my feelings in my last paragraph. But other than that this is the holiday film to watch. This is gonna be a big break-though for a lot of actors and actresses so watch for this film. I believe they are now in post-production and finished filming in Portland. So we will probably be hearing more and more in the coming months. In the meanwhile though here are some clips.
